AI Prompt Engineer Zen Robot Interview Spilling the Digital Beans on AI

Zen Robot is like a global citizen from the future. This UK resident is a Worldcoin ambassador, Lead Web Architect for Darwin Software, and an AI Prompt Engineer.

So this time we'll pulse-check AI straight from a user who has spent endless hours fine-tuning his prompts and also knows how annoying AI can happen to be.

What's your job and how does it involve AI?

I have practiced a lot of prompt engineering with GTP-4 and am hoping to work on some SaaS web projects that integrate with GPT-4 via the OpenAI API.

What's the craziest thing about AI you've heard so far?

AGI may actually happen before the end of the decade. I'm skeptical but also can't help but take this seriously and worry about the implications this would have for humanity.

Which AI tool do you personally use the most?

GPT-4, mostly because I've come to understand how to get the most out of that model and am delaying the learning curve that will come with using other models.

How much time do you approx. save daily by using AI tools?

Maybe an hour or two per day

Do you prefer: ChatGPT or Bard?

ChatGPT

What area should AI enthusiasts keep an eye on in the near future?

AI Agents

Any tips, tricks or hacks regarding the use of AI?

Be very precise about what you want a model to do for you. Garbage in equals garbage out. The clearer you make your intentions and desired outcomes, the better the response will be. I tend to be very verbose with prompts to really 'prime' the AI for a high-quality response. That said, don't expect it to think or truly understand you - just communicate clearly and let the magic happen.

What AI tool should be invented for you?

I really want a personal assistant AI that has access to everything - emails, chat histories, my code repositories, service APIs - everything. Then I can start gaining insight about how I'm performing against various goals and objectives, whilst also being able to automate things that currently have too much relevant context to be handled by a chatbot. Obviously, I have huge security and privacy concerns around this though, so I would want something that runs locally and doesn't send any of my data to remote servers.

Love or hate: Technology smarter than humans aka AGI?

Love, if aligned. Probably game over, if not.

Do you believe AI will bring a bigger technological revolution than the internet?

Yes, without a doubt.

Is AI more of a chance or a challenge for humanity?

Every breakthrough technology that we have invented as a species has potential good and bad outcomes in terms of widely shared human values. I believe this is even more true for AI because the rate of growth/evolution is unprecedented and we're still not sure what will ultimately be possible. It's certainly hard to know whether to support restrained growth (which seems impractical at a global level) or e/acc (which feels a bit risky and potentially overly optimistic).
