Presentation AI Gamma Comparison

Oh, what a beautiful future awaits us!

Companies like Prezi, Gamma, Pitch, Slidebean, and Pop.AI, just to name a few, are here to make our lives easier. Imagine spending no more time creating slides. AI-generated presentations will one day be the norm, so let's hear the office warriors say hallelujah: we’re not so far off anymore!

10 things an AI presentation maker can help you with:

  • Generate basic slide layouts, templates and designs

  • Create outlines based on your topic

  • Suggest and insert relevant stock images

  • Convert bullet points into visual diagrams

  • Generate simple data charts from the numbers you provide

  • Suggest color schemes and fonts

  • Write basic slide content and speaker notes

  • Summarize longer texts into presentation points

  • Translate presentations into other languages

  • Check grammar and consistency

Presentation AI won't be able to help you with every use case (yet), so let's break them down into two groups:

  1. for content with broader non-specific topics and

  2. customized content for a professional setting

The first applies e.g. to students with a simple assignment: present a broad topic, which typically will have lots of information online. Here AI is great at providing an outline and even content for you. It could practically put an AI-generated presentation together for you, which is customizable and you just have to check if it makes sense.

For the second use case, a professional setting, let's take the example of having to convince your boss of a bigger brand budget for the next quarter. In this instance, of course, AI wouldn't be able to create the presentation for you yet, because its missing too much context. But, e.g., presentation maker Gamma can still assist you with formatting, a good template, adding relevant pictures and graphs, or translating all slides into another language.

Unique capabilities of different presentation AI tools

Gamma is really unique: it was capable of creating a whole presentation from one prompt, which actually made sense! Others, like Pop.AI, were able to read information from your picture or PDF before ChatGPT was able to.

Prezi lets you take your audience through the deck with a flexible view by zooming in and out. Add-ons for Google slides or PowerPoint auto-generate content from topics or just outlines and helps you get through the finish line faster.

But to be honest, some contestants flat out fail to deliver what they promise, like Beautiful.AI. Subsequently, not every free AI presentation maker is worth your time.

Our newest addition to the list is Presentations.AI which had a good headstart if you ask me (but see the comparison for yourself).

I’ve tested each one of them extensively; here is a quick overview of the ranking. Check out the detailed comparison of the best AI presentation makers further down.

Conclusion

Gamma first starts a conversation with us, asking questions about the project intentions and right away suggests an outline for our presentation. Extra points to Gamma for their well functioning AI integration, this is the only tool I found that was able to put a whole presentation together with no input at all. I've added the presentation here below for you (I've literally not changed anything) and I really love the quality of this.

Conclusion

After Gamma, PresentationsAI is the only tool that was capable to generate a full presentation from a single prompt. Not quite as stylish and elaborate as Gamma, but without any bugs and still with good basic information. It's a solid tool, even if not a must-have!

Conclusion

Slidebean is more tailored towards startups and their needs, as they offer a financial modelling course next to their pitch deck presentation tool. They come with good intentions, but need to refine their product a bit more: the pitch deck software scans your website, but then doesn't process information like logo or adds a AI generated picture.

Conclusion

One might think 3,25 is not a good rating, but Pop.AI is on a very good way! This AI presentation tool is completely free and can read your images and PDFs thanks to a ChatGPT 4 integration. Even though the presentations generated were not my favorite and loading times were a bit slow, this is one of the products I will keep an eye on because their AI features were just really ahead of most others.

Conclusion

Well, the name is a bit of an exaggeration to be honest. The slides look as if my dad used his old templates (sorry Dad). The onboarding guide got stuck, so what you see on the picture above is good advice, but bad functionality. Also, I was not able to identify the AI feature, except for of course in the name.

AI TOOLS for Presentations - FAQ

Which is the best AI presentation maker?

We found Gamma well ahead of all the other presentation maker AI tools. Gamma was able to generate a whole presentation based on just one prompt, while other tools were promising much more than delivered.

Our second favorite tool is Prezi, which has a very modern and refreshing approach and reminds me more of a Miro board than a classical presentation. This makes leading through a story or pitch deck much more engaging.

Is there an AI that can make presentations and slides?

Absolutely! While some presentation AI promise a bit too much and has trouble delivering, other tools are capable of generating a whole presentation from a single prompt, like Gamma. And other AI for presentations made us also very happy due to unique features like Prezi, Pitch and Slidebean (for more details check out our AI presentation maker free comparison above).

Can I make a presentation in minutes?

Yes, if your topic is rather broad, then the modern presentation AI tools can create all slides literally in seconds. But if there is input from your side required because the content requires more context, you can just let AI create the outline and costumize the presentation with your unique text.

What is better: Gamma vs. Canva for slides?

Gamma really can create presentations in seconds and from just one single prompt. And the it actually made sense! Check out the generated presentation above. So we absolutely recommend Gamma over Canva.

We love Canva for everything except presentations (and video generation). But to be honest, as an AI slide maker, we found it rather weak and gave it only the 7th place out of 8. The Canva presentation templates are very basic, and we were not sure until the end what the AI part was actually in it.

What is better: Slidebean vs. Prezi?

Let’s say: it depends.

If you are ready for a refreshing new approach to presentations, Prezi is your tool. It reminded us more of a Miro board with a feature and allow to zoom in and out.

If you are a startup and want to use your presentations for pitches, Slidebean is your perfect fit. They offer AI pitch deck software, a fundraising kit and startup checklist for progress tracking. And we are great fans of their super informative newsletter.

Can ChatGPT create a PowerPoint presentation?

No, ChatGPT can currently not create an AI slide yet, but it is very good at giving you an outline of the slides you should include in it. It also has a feature where it can read documents and therefore summarize the content.

Are AI presentation makers free?

Most tools offer a generous free trials, we've added this info in each tools review, but after the trial period they charge a fee. PresenationAI offers one completely free version, which is a bit limited in features, but worth a try, since it generally performed quite good in our review.

This was our review of best AI to create presentations with. I hope you agree with me that the future looks bright! Many innovative and flashy ideas on how to make the process of putting a good presentation together easier for you. Not everything worked perfectly, but as AI is improving and outgrowing its baby years, so will the companies above.

My bet is that Gamma, Prezi and Pitch will win presenter’s hearts over with their slides AI if they know just as well how to build a startup as how to build great software on the long run.
